Oslos main street, Karl Johansgate, looks different than normal these days. A lot of obstacles have been put in the street in an attempt to avoid terrorists cars to use to kill people.

Oslo today. A dull day with Scottish rain. No snow. No snow yet in this winter country! They tell us we shall have some snow tomorrow. That will be good for the children who want to be outdoor skiing and playing.
I took this picture in the Royal Garden when passing through on my way down town. I intended to take some pictures of the new Munch Museum that is being built. But my bad legs would not carry me all the way there. However, the weather was not very good for photography anyway…

The church in my picture is the oldest building in Oslo that is in its original condition. It is called Gamle Aker Kirke, and lies on the hilltop behind the very picturesque small houses in Telthusbakken. The painter Edvard Munch painted this scenery, see links.

When I woke up one morning some years ago, I discovered a bird of prey sitting onn my balcony rail! I fetched my camera and managed this shot of the beautiful bird. It is known around here, and has got a name, the Hawk of the Palace Garden. It is a Sparrow Hawk, I believe, but I have only seen it hunt down pigeons.
I have never seen it on any other balcony here, I almost felt that it was posing for me, being interested in both birds and photography 🙂
