Barra, Outer Hebrides

Arriving at Castlebay, Barra.

When you cross the Minch from Oban to Barra, the southernmost island in the Outer Hebrides, you will land in Castlebay. As you can see, Martin, Simen and myself did so in not very pleasant weather. We just went on northwards looking for a nice place to stay in our campervan. When you arrive in Castlebay, the castle in the bay is a well-known landmark, the Kisimul Castle.

Evening on Outer Hebrides

kveldWe arrived in Castlebay on Barra in the Outer Hebrides after a long crossing from Oban on mainland Scotland. It was getting late and the weather was – typical. A light drizzle. My two sons and myself were lucky to have a small campervan, so we did not have to look for a B&B this time. This image was taken somewhere on the road northwards. A very dull evening. Fortunately, the islands showed a different face the next morning, sun from a clear sky.
