May 17th is the National Day of Norway. There is no military parade with tanks and bombs. The children are the once parading. In Oslo they march up the main street to wave to the Royal Family on the castle balcony. Every school takes part, with a band in front. Most women wear their national costume, a bunad, and men follow this tradition more and more. Colours, balloons, children eating hot dogs or ice-cream, is making this a very special day. On Tuesday.
