The Old Banister
I visited the building I grew up in yesterday. I was very happy to find that they had not modernised the old banister and the iron ornaments that hold them. There are a lot of scars in the wooden part, but it still feels nice to touch. This was there when I was born, just as WW2 started. I even think it has been there since the built the house, around 1890. I only hope they keep in this original state! In my mind this is now a piece of art.
