moorsAn image from the inner parts of Outer Hebrides. In the soil here, only heather thrive. However, the area is important because of the peat under the top soil. Peat has been used for heating the houses for hundreds of year. And it gives such a wonderful smell (at least to me) around the villages. I brought a piece of peat back to Norway and sometimes burn a little in an ashtray.
