The Krekke group had a gathering in Lofoten 1968. We rented two brand new fishermens huts (rorbuer) from the owner of the small place (væreier), Georg Arne Krogtoft. We cooked ourselves. Unfortunately, we could not observe the midnight sun from the houses, so we had to walk to Kåkern bridge to view it. A couple of times a truck took us to the beautiful beach near Flakstad. The reason we chose this place, was a man I met when I worked for a rehabilitation centre in Oslo. I met with a man who had to amputate both feet because he had frozen them when he capsized with his fishing vessel. He had swam to a skerry, but was not found for several days in winter cold. His name was Anathon Spjelkavik.
Another year we organised an official CISV reunion camp at the same location. In the image you can see Jertka Høgberg photographing the locals handling fish.
