Road in the fjord

Driving on the narrow roads on the west coast of Norway used to be quite a challenge. The mountain strait up on one side and the fjord on the other. Meeting another vehicle was scary at times.
Today, more and more tunnels cover the difficult parts. Safer, but nothing to see.

- No jam here, traffic moving very well. You can see that the road is widened a bit in the curve.

A large part of my image collection are volleyball pictures, since that was my occupation for more than 30 year, hence the category Historiske volleyballbilder.
I grew up in Grünerløkka during and after WW2 and under Oppvekst på Grünerløkka you will find images from this part of Oslo, some of them taken by my familiy.
CISV, Childrens International Summer Villages, is an organization that has meant much to. I took part in the very first village, in Cincinnati in 1951. I will show you pictures from many other events I have attended.
In the beginning of the seventies I was a teacher on the island of Røst, north of the Polar Circle. It is a fascinating place, and I go back regularly to take more pictures. Some of these photos are gathered in a book I made.
